Sunday Jazz Sessions start at District House Victoria Road New Brighton Wirral from Sunday 20th September. This is a great new venue for Jazz on the Wirral, and musicians and Jazz fans have already been telling me how much they are looking forward to these weekly sessions. Thursday Jazz - The Cheshire Cheese Wallasey Village
There is a new home for Jazz on a Thursday for the next few months, and possibly longer with your support. Thanks to Ian & Dan at The Cheshire Cheese Public House, 2 Wallasey Village, Wallasey CH44 2DH from 9th July 2026 Thursday Jazz secured a new home.

Jazz is in the wonderful Courtyard room. The evening starts with superb DJ (Graeme Halewood) playing tracks relevant to the music of the guest musician each Thursday from 7pm, with the live music starting at 8pm. We have had some great nights so far and with even more support we are hoping the Cheshire Cheese will become a permanent fixture on the Jazz circuit.

Tallulah’s Emporium Closure - July 2026
Tallulah’s Emporium in New Brighton on the Wirral sadly closed on July 1st 2026. I had been organising music at the venue on Thursdays and Sundays for three and a half years. Sadly those music nights will no longer take place.

New piece for solo vibes:
I am excited and honoured to be the dedicatee of a new composition for solo vibraphone, ‘On The Ball’ written by Isabelle Ryder. It’s a wonderful piece that’s proving to be a little tricky. As a bit of a teaser it’s been written by Isabelle using the octatonic scale. I’m hoping to put together a performance of the piece in the near future at a concert that will fully show of this great piece of writing for the vibraphone

Concert & Gig news:
August is another month that is busy with live performances. In addition to appearances at the new home of Thursday Jazz,The Cheshire Cheese Pub at Wallasey Village, I’ll be playing drums with the Peninsula Jazz Men at Heswall British Legion, and at The Milo Lounge on Lark Lane in Liverpool. Early summer saw a tour to Cornwall in June where I played at Truro Cathedral with guitarist Eleanor Kelly. In August I visited the South East of England, once again with Eleanor Kelly on guitar. We played two gigs in Brighton at St Nicholas’ Church in the afternoon then over to The Wick Inn at Hove for the evening. A very diverse musical day. From there we travelled to Tunbridge Wells, Hastings before ending our small tour playing in a Circus Tent at Eastbourne

Following on from my recital in Liverpool Cathedral in February, I’ll be performing there, in the wonderful Lady Chapel again, at 1:30pm on Friday 20th November 2026. Watch the listings in this website for more information.

I was lucky enough to be invited to work with Alex Cottrell and his band ‘Neverbody’ on their debut album ‘SELF TALK’, playing vibes on ‘Who is We’. The album was launched in November 2025 and is now available on digital and vinyl.
